Culinary calm

@dyerphoto

A family kitchen taking inspiration from the classic details of a British Manor house. Culinary Calm is tucked under the roofline balancing a classic sense of style with an air of simplicity. The skylight dramatically washes the space in light while the historic dormered windows give a sense of place. This expansive room is designed for: enjoying the art of cooking, gathering around the island with a cup of tea or glass of wine, chatting with kids as they eat breakfast, and finding the perfect midnight snack. A grand skylight is central to the layout and the generously scaled island anchors the design. Shaker style cabinetry, vintage inspired lighting, custom decorative cabinet hardware and 3cm soapstone countertops give a sense of grounded elegance to the design. The cabinets are a rich slate blue complimented by warm wood tones and soft lime washed walls. The beautiful historic windows look out on the tree lined garden below and if you get close enough you may just glimpse the tips of the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. This room was made possible through a collaboration between Everson Perez with Perez Construction and Chantal Lamberto Interior Design.

about sf decorator showcase 2024

Since 1977, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase has raised over $17 million to benefit the San Francisco University High School financial aid program.

UHS is committed to building a community that reflects and embraces the great diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area. This year the UHS Financial Aid program is providing over $4.4 million in grants to 21% of the student body, with average grants covering 73% of tuition. Proceeds from the Decorator Showcase have afforded hundreds of deserving and talented Bay Area students access to a world-class college preparatory education.

We are delighted to announce the selection of the 2024 Showcase house at 2898 Broadway, located along Billionaires Row in the iconic Pacific Heights neighborhood. Commissioned in 1899 by lumber and railroad magnet, Duane Bliss commissioned his son, architect Walter D. Bliss, to design this magnificent home in the Dutch Colonial Revival style which has panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay from the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz Island.

The 45th Decorator Showcase will be open to the public from April 27th through May 27th, 2024. We look forward to seeing you there!
