Montana’s Monarchs

An imaginative retreat among the fluttering butterflies, this little girl’s bedroom creates an inspiring environment for her to grow and her tastes to evolve. Tucked away under the arch is a custom reading nook, an enchanted place to hide-a-way and curl up with a good book. Antiques, objects of curiosity and hints of whimsy are incorporated throughout the room while the bed and study area rely on modern practicality and aesthetics. A lively bedroom for a girl’s mind and spirit to flourish.

Inspired by a ‘kaleidoscope’ (a group of butterflies), the theme became more abstract. A subtle, yet graphic hand-painted wallpaper is offset by bold black and white striped stone wainscotting and shower walls. Your eyes wander down to the prismatic black and white stone flooring. A custom rift sawn oak vanity and dressing table both with a marble countertop grounds the space. Two windows, veiled with embroidered butterfly sheers allow the natural light to flutter into the space. Above all, this is a space for a young girl to grow up and evolve; brushing teeth, daily routines, but also dreaming in front of the mirror: getting ready for school, doing her hair, experimenting with makeup, getting ready for dances, going out. Feeling her best.
